John Gilbert Scholarship for International Studies
$1,000 - $7,000 awarded annually
The John Gilbert Scholarship is made possible through the generosity of a fund set up by the family and friends of John Gilbert. The John Gilbert Scholarship is exclusively for students who participate in an 菠菜网lol正规平台-approved study abroad 程序. 申请人 for the John Gilbert Scholarship for International Studies 必须 be political science majors with a minimum GPA of 3.0 overall, at 菠菜网lol正规平台, or in the political science major. 申请人 必须 be full-time political science majors taking a minimum of 12 units at the time of 应用程序, or full-time students when enrolled in the study board 程序. This scholarship also supports participation in 教师主导的项目 that take place in the intersession (summer and winter).
To apply, follow these steps:
This scholarship does not use the common scholarship 申请表.
- First consult with the Gilbert Scholarship Advisor, 丹妮拉·达德利教授 (克拉克大厦404F).
- Attend an 菠菜网lol正规平台 study abroad informational meeting or individual counseling session with an 菠菜网lol正规平台 study abroad advisor.
- Prepare and submit an 应用程序 to a recognized 程序 through the 菠菜网lol正规平台 study abroad 办公室.
- Prepare a 500-word statement on the relevance of study abroad to your educational and professional goals, including a tentative budget for the overseas stay. 在这个 statement the applicant should identify the particular 程序 or 程序s for which 他或她正在申请. Note, you do not need to have been 接受 to a study aboard 程序, to apply for the Gilbert Scholarship.
- Please attach a resume, including information on employment, memberships in clubs, associations, fraternities, sororities, public service organizations, or other extracurricular activities, including those outside 菠菜网lol正规平台.
- Print and complete the Gilbert Scholarship 申请表格[pdf], attach the 500 word statement including budget, and information about the study aboard 程序 that you are applying for. Also attach a copy of your study aboard 应用程序.
- Bring the completed 应用程序 and supporting documents to Professor Dudley and obtain her signature during her scheduled 办公时间.
There is no specific deadline for Gilbert 奖学金. Applications will continue to be 接受 on a rotating basis until all funds are awarded. Therefore, it is in your interest to apply early to optimize your chances.
